Char is an Associate Professor in the graduate nursing program at Ohio University, has experience with traditional, blended and on-line course delivery models, and is recognized by the National League for Nursing (NLN) as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).  Char holds an MSN with a concentration in Adult Health from Otterbein University and has been a board certified Nurse Practitioner for 18 years. She maintains an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner with a specialty in palliative care and geriatrics in addition to her academic appointment.  She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Wright State University and her research interests include situated learning for skill acquisition, simulation,  and improving health outcomes in older adults.
